Badger formulations are powerfully pure: This means they are 100% natural, rich in certified organic ingredients and they are completely and reassuringly, 100% chemical and synthetic free. 98% isn't good enough for Badger. That last 2% can make a world of difference.Badger won't even allow chemicals in the processing of their raw ingredients: In Badger's opinion, chemical processing creates "damaged goods". They use ingredients like Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Wild African Shea Butter, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Coconut Oil from Fiji, and exceptionally fragrant and cold pressed and steam distilled essential oils. And these are all naturally processed without the use of chemicals. This means safer, cleaner and healthier.
It also means, they work better: Your body is a miraculous self-healing eco-system. And the products you apply to your skin are absorbed. In Badger's opinion, chemicals don't get the job done in a deep and lasting way and their safety is questionable. The more natural a body care product, the more compatible and the more therapeutically effective it will be.
Badger makes extensive use of supercritical CO2 herbal extracts: Most cosmetic vitamins are synthetic single molecule derivatives. This is also the case with many of the so-called cosmetic "anti-oxidants". Whereas Badger's CO2 herbal extracts are not "derivatives" nor are they synthetic. They are the concentrated goodness of whole and wholesome botanicals. Badger is particularly fond of these. CO2 extracts have been shown to be powerful free-radical scavengers and active anti-oxidants with cell restorative properties. Badger features the use of the organic CO2 extracts of Calendula, Sea Buckthorn Berry and Rose Hip.
Badger formulates "with the intention to soothe and heal": Badger thinks about people they know and care about; then they make something that they would feel proud and grateful to give them. Then, they give it to the world.
Badger is not driven by cost: That can lead to "cutting corners". They focus on quality, and try to make fabulous healing products through thoughtful formulation and the use of simple, natural ingredients. Many of the botanicals they use are unbelievably expensive. Rose Otto, for instance, runs about $5000 per liter. Organic Madagascar Vanilla Extract is $4000 per liter. Yet by virtue of fragrance, purity and therapeutic effect, they are well worth it. If you were to compare ingredients line-by-line, Badger products equal or exceed, in quality and purity, ingredients found in the top 1% of the world's finest natural body care lines.
Badger on animal testing: Badger loves animals so they do not test their products on animals.
Further benefits of Badger's products: Their products are bio-degradable and completely free of GMO's, parabins, fragrance oils, chemically processed "derivatives" or any other dubious stuff that you definitely don't want to put on your skin.
Badger's pride on quality and authenticity of their pure essential oils: Many are certified organic. All are ecologically processed, either by steam distillation or in the case of the citrus family, by cold pressing. Many essential oils exhibit anti-bacterial, anti-viral and immune enhancing characteristics, so this stuff is really good for you.
Certifications

Leaping Bunny: The Leaping Bunny Program certifies companies who commit to no animal testing at any stage in product development. Since no regulations for cruelty-free labeling exist, companies can make any animal testing claims they want, leading to confusion and misinformation. Companies certified through the Leaping Bunny Program are subject to independent audits and must pledge to conduct no new animal testing at all stages of product development.
Bill Whyte was a carpenter by trade and an herbalist by avocation. He could never find a product to heal his rough, dry, cracked hands, the result of daily hard work in the tough New Hampshire winters. Bill whipped up a batch of the original Healing Balm in his kitchen using Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Beeswax, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera and Essential Oil of Sweet Birch, a traditional New England herbal remedy.
The result was astounding: a simple, all-natural, soothing and healing balm that really worked! And a company was born.
A team of about 40 friendly badgers formulates, manufactures, and ships almost all of the products from their facility, known as The Badger Mines. Badger works hard to create a healthy business with ethical and charitable principles. Call and ask any employee. You'll hear about their free organic lunches, green initiatives in every department and their charitable giving practices.
Badger's mission: To create fabulously pure and effective products of the highest natural quality, based on simplicity and thoughtful preparation, with the intention to soothe and heal.
