This morning, GreenCupboards dove into juicing, and tested out the Hurom Slow Juicer. We are wild about this juicer! Several GreenCupboards employees love juicing and it was a treat to test out the Hurom. This machine is powerful, fun to use, easy to clean and makes some awesome juice. The Hurom uses a low speed technology system which means it maximizes the amount of nutrients and vitamins found in your favorite fruits and vegetables without all the noise.
Noise: The first thing we noticed when we turned this juicer on is how quiet it is. It barely made a buzz!- Power: Even though it is quiet, that does not mean this thing does not have any horse power! The Hurom can handle stocky carrots and other high density produce yielding more condensed pulp, and you know what that means: More Juice!
- External Trough: Many juicers have an internal trough that holds all the pulp. This can make it messy to clean as well as difficult to juice a lot at once because you constantly have to clean out the trough. The Hurom’s trough is external, making pulp more easily accessible for post-juicing use such as composting.
- Clean-up: There are many pieces to this juicer. We originally thought the clean up process would be a little difficult and time consuming. Boy, were we wrong! Each piece easily detached from each other and cleaning was simple. The juicer even comes with a little pick and brush to help– making it easy to get any pulp out of the small nicks and crannies. Cleaning the Hurom was a breeze!
One thing to keep in mind when using the Hurom is to be sure to cut your fruit and veggies into manageable pieces. It is best to cut food items into pieces no larger than 2 inches. And for those of you wondering, we juiced two different concoctions together today. The first was kale, carrot, apple, ginger, sage and lime. The second was watermelon, grapefruit and apple. Both were delicious! What are some of your favorite juice recipes? We’d love to hear from you! Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest!
