Greenbuds Mattresses are made with Dunlop Processed Latex, as pure as you can get. They use only 100% All Natural Latex, with no additives, which comes from the sap of the hevea brasiliensis tree. Natural Latex does contain free proteins, which are known allergens for some people. However, these proteins are "contact" proteins, not airborne. The key point is, they ensure that the All-Natural Latex is washed thoroughly with natural soap and water.
The Original Dunlop process is still the most popular and cost effective, while achieving a superior product. The Dunlop processed latex is especially geared for babies and toddlers, as it provides Buoyant cushioning to support proper spinal alignment and cushion growing joints and bones. The Dunlop Process also uses a mold that punctures little holes throughout the latex block, to ensure excess aeration and breathability, as well as giving resiliency and bounce to the mattress. So although the latex is extremely firm, it also has some resiliency for additional comfort (especially needed for the toddler side of the mattresses).
Natural Latex is naturally breathable & creates a low moisture environment that dust mites, bed bugs, bacteria etc. do NOT like. It is actually 300% more dust-mite resistant than synthetic foams.
