What is UV-C?
UV-C is part of the ultra-violet light spectrum that is filtered out by the earth's atmosphere. The "C" stands for the particular frequency of UV light that kills germs.
Why is UV-C so effective at destroying germs?
UV-C light is highly effective at penetrating thin-walled germs like viruses and bacteria. The light alters the genetic structure of the germs and they die.

Breathing clean air is very important to healthy living. Up until a short time ago, if you wanted to purify the air in your house you used a traditional forced air system that filtered out airborne germs with a multi-layered system, or a filter made out of carbon.

- Bed mattresses, quilts, pillows: Vacuum the mattress first. Hold UV-C Sanitizer Wand approximately 1 inch above the surface and move the UV-C Sanitizer Wand over a 12 inch area for 20 seconds. Continue until the entire desired surface is covered.
- Animal mattresses and enclosure. Refer to Number 1 for directions.
- Personal hygiene items: Expose items such as personal razors, brushes combs and other personal hygiene implements at close range for a minimum of 10 seconds.
- Kitchen utensil Hold the wand at close range, exposing knives, utensils, chopping boards for a minimum of 10 seconds. Use away from water sources.
- Bathroom Germs and Odor Hold the wand approximately 2 inches above the surface of the toilet seat or sink and slowly move the wand sideways over the entire surface for a total of 20 seconds. Be careful not to immerse the wand in water
- Shoes Expose once a week at close range for five minutes to help kill germs that cause odors. Expose the soles of your shoes more frequently - the soles are the major source of bringing bacteria into the home!
- Computers, Doorknobs, Telephones, etc.: Expose at a distance of 1 inch for approximately 10 seconds.
- Sanitizing Tip: Effective sanitizing can generally be achieved in 20 seconds at a distance of approximately 1 inch
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children or pets.
- Use only as described in this manual.
- If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped in water, return it to the manufacturer.
- Do no handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Remove batteries before any routine cleaning or maintenance.
- Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid gets on the skin 1 wash quickly with soap and water or 2 neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.
- Children cannot recognize the hazards associated with the usage of electrical appliances. For this reason, always supervise children when they are near the product.
- Use only AA batteries.
