They have worked with more groups then we care to list but here are a few:
- Off the Mat, Into the World: A group that brings people together in sustainable and meaningful activities
- Bent on Learning: A New York city group working with over 3,000 at-risk youth
- Vitamin Angels: Fight to reduce infant mortality rates globally
- Trees for the Future: Plants trees worldwide to improve the environment, local economies and the lives of local residents
Made in the USA
Not only are they environmentally consensus but Jade Yoga focuses on people too, their mats are made in the United States in compliance with all US environmental and labor laws.
Trees for the Future
Finally, through its partnership with Trees for the Future, Jade Yoga plants a tree for every yoga mat you buy. Trees for the Future is a organization that works with local communities on projects that are environmentally and economically sustainable. They are not about going in and dictating what they are going to do then doing it and walking away. They engage the local community which leads to a project that can continue long after Trees for the Future has left. Trees for the Future works to develop and implement programs to improve living standards for the participants, by the careful management, rather than the exploitation, of our natural resources.
A company that sees value in more than just money is a company with a cause and here at Greencupboards we love companies that are more than profit margins.
Jade's 3 Rs - Reuse, Reduce, Recycle
JadeYoga has developed a program for reusing yoga mats - bringing them to those who otherwise might not be able to afford them, reduce the number of yoga mats going to landfills and recycle any mats that cannot be reused.
The primary goal of the Jade 3R Program is to maximize the local reuse of returned yoga mats. Without a doubt, local reuse has the lowest environmental impact. They have had many requests over the years from a number inspiring yoga teachers who have volunteered to teach in shelters, schools, prisons, rehabilitation centers etc., who would love to have used mats for their programs. They hope their Jade 3R Program will make it easier to put more mats in the hands of these great teachers.
