Beaba's parent company, Scandinavian Child, began shortly after the birth of Founder Brenda Berg's first child, and Scandinavian Child officially launched in the spring of 2003 with its flagship product, the Svan High Chair. Brenda quickly found high demand for high-quality children's products that emphasize beautiful design, functionality and safety, and continues her pursuit of designs without compromise.
The "designs without compromise" philosophy means every product they represent must meet their demanding criteria:
Style - Timeless designs that blend with home decor or match parents' sense of personal style
Safety - Safety-driven designs that meet or exceed both mandatory and voluntary safety standards for juvenile products
Multi-functional - Products that serve over the long term
Eco-friendly - Environmentally conscious designs that emphasize sustainable raw materials, lead-free finishes, Phthalate-free plastics, PBDE-free cushions, low-VOC paint, and formaldehyde-free plywood.
Superior Quality and Service - Long-term warranties and exceptional customer service assure customers that they can expect a high-quality product with a matching level of support.
Becoming a parent reminds us that we pass the world down to our children. To that end, lillebaby is committed to minimizing the impact on the environment by bringing you environmentally responsible products and maximizing recycling in our products, packaging and day to day work.
Though "organic" and "sustainable" are quite the buzzwords these days, they've been a part of lillebaby's vocabulary from the very beginning. The company started almost 10 years ago with lots of optimism, but little money, so conservation was critical. It became a way of life.
But the biggest impact is not in biking to work or reusing the printing paper, but products. That's why lillebaby drives their products to the most sustainable versions they can make. Their packaging and ink are tested for their decomposability performance in landfills to ensure they are not harmful to the environment. The materials they choose, the coloring they use, the production methods they employ, and the factories they select, are where they make sure the products are healthy for their little customers, and where their green philosophy makes the biggest difference.
Because children deserve a future that depends on a clean, sustainable earth, Scandinavian Child is just as committed to environmentally responsible materials and practices. Their exceptional baby furnishings feature natural, sustainable woods such as the Cariboo line's New Zealand radiata pine, one of the most widely grown exotic timber species in the world.
Svan's largest suppliers of birch wood are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, an international network to promote management of the world's forests. They also look for fabrics that are pure and natural, like 100% wool and 100% unbleached cotton.
Even in the everyday routine of the Scandinavian Child offices. they're dedicated followers of reuse and recycle programs. Every step we take toward respecting and improving the environment helps ensure a brighter tomorrow for us all.
As a proud member of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA), Scandinavian Child test and certify all of their products to the stringent safety standards established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). They feel strongly about distributing only the safest products and display the JPMA certification, where applicable, to assure parents they are buying the absolute best products for their child.
In fact, they go the extra mile to ensure that all products are tested to any relevant ASTM standards even if they are not covered in the JMPA certification program. Working to champion the cause of safety standards in children's products, Brenda Berg, president and CEO of Scandinavian Child, serves on the JPMA board and is a member of several ASTM committees.
Scandinavian Child is committed to offering extraordinary baby furnishings that are good for babies and good for the planet. Their goal: to provide the safest, most environmentally sensitive products on the market. Non-toxic children's products Scandinavian Child goes the extra mile to make sure their products are free of substances that could put children at risk. They regularly conduct laboratory tests on every part of the products they represent.
The result? Greater peace of mind for parents, knowing that their baby is protected from exposure to toxic substances that could impair healthy development. Scandinavian Child is proud to offer exceptional children's products with features like these:
- PBDE-free foam cushions and padding Lead-free stains and finishes
- Phthalate-free plastics
- Bisphenol A-free plastics
But they won't rest there. They vigilantly watch the latest updates on elements that may be harmful to children, and will continue to work with their manufacturers to identify and eliminate potentially toxic chemicals.
The lillebaby Nordic Carrier grows with your child and offers you six different carrying positions. No more needing to buy a new carrier every month, just adjust your Nordic carrier and start another day.

Both the lillebaby EveryWear and Nordic carriers can be customized to your baby and offers every carrying positions, but you will not use all of them at once. Focus on your child's age and try one carrier position at a time.
![]() | Age 0-4 Months At 0-4 months, babies have weak and undeveloped neck muscles. Only use carrying positions that support your baby's neck and head. Baby should be in an upright position with chin up, face visible and nose and mouth free. You may use your carrier in the front in facing position without any additional accessory purchase required. The optional cradle carry position requires the lillebaby infant cradle insert. |
![]() | Age 4-6 Months As baby's neck muscles strengthen, you will have more carrying options. You baby may be facing forward when she can strongly support her head. The age for this developmental stage is individual. For all facing in positions use wide seat setting once your baby is comfortable sitting with the feet on each side of your waist (normally close to 6 months); use the narrow seat prior to this stage. |
![]() | Age 6-12 Months At 6 months some babies are comfortable wrapping their feet around their parent and are ready to be carried on the parents back. Always use the wide seat for the hip and back positions as it gives better balance.
|
![]() | Age 12 Months and Up (to 42 lb) The timing for discontinuing front carrier positions depends on baby's weight and your physical strength and comfort. Hip carrier and back carrier positions allow you to carry heavier weight and are recommended for older/heavier babies. Additional Design Details
