The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of durable fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners (that may break or bend). It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and baby. Moby Wraps are one size which means all caregivers can easily and comfortably share one wrap.
Secure
In a Moby Wrap, the baby is secured by three sections of fabric for triple wrapped security. A Moby Wrap's one-way stretch cotton and wide width ensure that your baby is held close and tight. When sleeping, the back of your baby's head can also be secured under the cotton fabric for added safety. You can finally have both hands free and know your baby is safe and secure. Each Moby Wrap comes with an easy to follow full-color instructional booklet containing wrapping instructions and safety information.
Being uniquely close to your baby
Moby Wraps do not put a lot of extra material or bulky padding between you and your baby. Your baby can hear your heartbeat and find comfort in the warmth of your body within the cuddly confines of a Moby Wrap.
Babies to 35 lbs.
Moby Wraps are the optimal baby carrier for infants. Parents of newborns have found that skin-to-skin contact with their infants, which can be easily achieved while wearing a Moby Wrap, leads to faster regaining of birth weight. The durable fabric and generous length of Moby Wraps are design characteristics intended to adapt to your growing baby. The fabric can securely and comfortably hold babies up to 35 lbs.
Soothes fussy babies
It is amazing how quickly a baby will settle down once wrapped in a Moby. Pediatric experts like Dr. Sears stress the importance of holding your baby often and close. A Moby Wrap allows you to do this with ease. The style of the wrap ensures your baby is uniquely close, mimicking the natural way a baby is held in its caregiver's arms, while providing ultimate comfort and support. Your baby can be kept close and happy while enjoying the benefits of being carried. Carried babies cry significantly less, develop secure attachments to their caregivers, have improved sleep habits and have lower levels of stress.
Machine washable
Prewashing before use is recommended. The Moby Wrap is easy to clean. Machine wash your Moby Wrap in cold water and tumble dry low. As with all cotton items, slight shrinkage is expected during the first wash. Extra length is built into the design of each Moby Wrap to ensure a good fit after washing.
Baby Wearing
A study at Columbia University compared the levels of attachment of babies carried in a baby carrier vs. babies carried in a car seat. Results indicated that, at 13 months old, babies who were carried in wearable carriers were significantly more likely to demonstrate a strong and secure attachment to their mothers (Anisfeld, Casper, Nozyce, & Cunningham, 1990).
Reduces crying significantly
Just three hours a day of babywearing significantly reduces crying (Babywearing, 2010).
Lowers incidence of illness
Studies have shown that babywearing is linked to lowering the incidence of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome), behavioral disorders and postpartum depression in mothers (Babywearing, 2010).
Increases learning
Babies in a content and safe environment are able to be more alert and aware of their surroundings, providing the perfect environment for learning. This also provides the parent with an opportunity for increased interaction and bonding time with their baby. Carried babies are able to learn language more quickly since they are positioned at voice and eye level. They become more involved in conversations and begin to learn how to listen (Sears).
Provides a sense of organization
The rhythms of the parent walking, heartbeat, etc. provide a balancing and soothing effect on babies (Babywearing, 2010). According to Dr. Sears, "regular parental rhythms have a balancing effect on the infant's irregular rhythms. Babywearing 'reminds' the baby of and continues the motion and balance he enjoyed in the womb" (Sears).
Advances social development
Infants are physically closer to people and intimately involved in their caregiver's environment. According to Dr. Sears, "the baby becomes aware of, and learns from, all the subtle facial expressions, body language, voice inflections and tones, breathing patterns and emotions of the caregiver." Babies are exposed to the all the aspects of being human through their caregiver, increasing social development (Sears).
Provides fathers with a soothing touch
A father who participates in babywearing can actually soothe a fussy baby. Fathers can hold babies close and talk, hum or sing which is calming to babies (Asaff, 2009).
Increases hormone levels
Prolactin and oxytocin levels in the mother are increased through contact with baby. Increased levels of mothering hormones leads to easier breastfeeding, more responsible mothering and a more secure maternal bond (Babywearing, 2010). Additionally these hormones inhibit the negative impact of stress on the mother (O'Mara, 2010).
Establishes independence earlier
Normal environmental sounds have the potential to be both a learning and a disturbing experience. When alone and not held, babies can be frightened by sounds. When carried, babies use these sounds as a vehicle for learning. The caregiver provides soothing words to help the baby overcome fears, providing the baby with a positive association between the caregiver's voice and the disturbing sounds. Now the baby is more comfortable with the environment and ready to explore with confidence (Sears).
Makes sibling care easier
Carrying baby enables the caregiver to have both hands free. Caregivers have the freedom to care for other children while carrying their baby close (Sears).
Provides a sense of calmness
Baby's primal needs are being met by being carried, thus providing a calming effect on the baby (Babywearing, 2010).
Adheres to our biological nature
Babies are born with the natural grasping reflex to cling to their mothers. Babywearing fulfills this natural instinct (Stay At Home Mum, 2009).
Decreases the risk of flat head syndrome
This syndrome is caused by the babies spending too much time in car seats or sleeping on their backs. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies should spend minimal amount of time in car seats when not used in a motor vehicle. Babywearing does not require babies to lie flat, thus no pressure is placed on the baby's head. Additionally, babies can be carried while they sleep, further reducing the amount of time they spend flat on their backs (Babywearing, 2010).

Benefits of Natural Cotton:
Moby Wrap makes baby products with organic cotton because pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals found in traditional cotton can be irritating to skin, especially baby skin. Organic cotton is not only less likely to irritate skin, but soil quality is not diminished when growers do not use artificial chemicals. Organic cotton also benefits growers and pickers. Pickers are not exposed to dangerous chemicals when they are picking organic cotton. Farm owners don't have to spend extra money on pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals and their own medical risks are greatly diminished.
Water Supply:
When farmers are encouraged to grow organically because there is a market willing to buy their organic agricultural goods, the water supply is affected in a positive manner. Typically, when pesticides are used, artificial chemicals unavoidable leak into the water supply, tainting the quality of drinking water. When natural pesticides and fertilizers are used to grow organic agricultural products, everyone benefits.Warning:
Failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions can result in death or serious injury. Please read the full instruction manual for correct usage.Suffocation Hazard
Ensure that the infant's face is above the fabric, visible and free from obstructions at all times. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use. Babies at the greatest risk of suffocation include those born prematurely, those with respiratory problems and those under four months of age. Ensure that the baby does not curl into a position with the chin resting on or near the chest, because this position can interfere with breathing, even if nothing is covering the nose or mouth.
Fall Hazard
Babies can fall from improper use. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use. Leaning, bending over, or tripping can cause baby to fall. Keep one hand on baby while moving. Small children can fall through leg openings. Adjust leg openings to fit baby's legs snugly.
ONLY USE THIS CARRIER FOR BABIES BETWEEN 8 LBS AND 35 LBS
