WHY is Certification important?
Due to the growing popularity of green products on the market today there is also an increase in “greenwashing”, or products that claim to be green, but actually are not. GreenCupboards certifies that all of the products it sells are truly green, and proactively requests information from manufacturers to ensure this.
What IS GreenCupboards Certification?
GreenCupboards certifies manufacturers through independent research, including a comprehensive questionnaire completed by each vendor. The questionnaire inquires about manufacturing processes and facilities, use of renewable energy, waste management, packaging materials, ingredients, and other sustainable practices that support its commitment to the health of consumers and the environment.
HOW do manufacturers become certified?
Completed questionnaires (download the Manufacturer Questionnaire PDF) are reviewed by GreenCupboards and verified, as necessary, by third parties. Manufacturers that GreenCupboards deems to be truly eco-friendly are eligible to have their products offered for sale on our website. In addition, those companies are provided with a digital copy of the GreenCupboards Certified Seal of Approval for their websites and other marketing materials. If at any time, GreenCupboards determines that a vendor no longer maintains its high level of eco-friendly practices, it may discontinue offering its products.
