Tomat's founder and designer, Efi Latief, is a graphic designer and a mom. She was born in exotic Indonesia where color, art and great design are a mainstay of the cultural diet. After completing graphic design school in Indonesia and graduating with honors from the renowned Art Center College of Design in California, Efi worked for over ten years in a variety of design studio projects cultivating her talents.

The birth of her energetic and outspoken daughter Sadie moved Efi to do something more personal, healthy and creative. That was how Tomat was conceived. A seedling of an idea has turned into a full-grown, successful clothing line that keeps true to its roots by nurturing the creation of fresh, innovative and original children's fashions.

Tomat means tomato in Indonesia. Besides being Sadie's favorite food, Tomat perfectly captures what this clothing line is all about; happy-looking, heart-healthy and mouthwatering goodness.
